Each TSC site not only provides life-giving impact to foster children & their caregivers, but to the foster care community & the community-at-large, as well.

TSC provides foster children with a unique outdoor setting and programming where they have a greater chance to heal, grow, belong, and find hope.

  • TSC’s primary focus is to provide tailored spaces and intentional experiences designed to meet the unique needs of foster children and help them heal from the trauma they’ve experienced.

    • Programming and outdoor spaces designed to help them connect with nature and others

    • Margin of space & time to be quiet in the midst of the chaos in their lives

    • Opportunities for no-tech, unstructured play

    • A place where they will be encouraged and feel like they belong

    • A common space where they can spend time with siblings living with other foster families

    • A more life-giving alternative for court-ordered visits, therapy sessions, etc.

    • TSC is “our space” vs. “their space” - allowing foster children a chance to better connect with their foster families and take greater ownership of their surroundings

    • Exposure to new experiences & chances to learn new things

    • A place where older foster youth can build community and learn new skills

    • Greater connection to others and the world around them

TSC supports foster parents by not only providing a special place and experiences for their children, but for them as well.

  • Foster parents and other caregivers face many unique challenges while caring for foster children. In addition to providing them a special place to go with their families, TSC also provides them a place to retreat, process, and recharge.

    • An alternative, nature-based location geared to the specific needs of their family

    • A place where their children, foster & biological, can connect in ways that will help them heal & grow

    • Opportunities to break down the walls their foster children have built up due to trauma

    • A safe place to process through critical events in their child’s life (e.g., sharing potentially difficult news, transitions, etc.)

    • Shared experiences that will help build relational connections

    • A unique place for them to retreat, process, and recharge

    • Somewhere that they can build community with others who are going through the same experiences

    • Encouragement & general support

    • Improved experience as a foster parent (potentially increasing retention)

TSC offers the foster care community outdoor spaces geared to their needs where they can provide their programs & services.

  • The foster care community is made up of organizations and people who selflessly give of themselves to make a difference in the lives of foster children. TSC aims to support them by providing life-giving spaces where they can offer their programs & services.

TSC gives the community-at-large new opportunities to serve the foster care community in ways that they may be gifted, knowledgeable, and passionate.

  • In general, most people are unaware of the challenges and needs of the foster care community. And those who are aware often don’t know how they can step in to help. So many people don’t and the needs are left unmet. TSC aims to change that.

    • New opportunities for people to serve the foster care community in ways that they are gifted, passionate, and have knowledge & expertise

    • Greater exposure to the needs of foster parents and how they can be helped directly

    • Deeper heart-connection with the foster care community, leading to greater involvement & fulfillment
